The year 2024 ushers in the Steuben Striders Track Club’s 50th season. In celebration of this milestone, we are excited announcement that the production company Unknown Waters is filming a documentary on the Steuben Striders Track Club!
We are so thankful to have a documentary to memorialize all of the hard work that Coach Patrica Herring and the Steuben Striders Staff and Coaches invest each year. Filming will be a year-long project and the documentary will premier in Spring of 2024. The documentary will cover how Bob Young came to found the Steuben Striders, what Coach Pat did to keep the program running after his passing, and who we are today. So, mark your calendars for April 2024!
As filming a documentary is a large financial endeavor. We are putting a 5k this year (2023) to help fundraise. This event will take place on the date of our founder’s passing, April 22. The Bob Young Memorial 5k will include a 5k walk/run, a 1 mile run/walk, and a Toddler Dash for the very young ones. We aim for this annual race to continue Bob Young’s mission of engaging our kids, parents, and fellow members of the Ohio Valley in positive sporting events and local pride.
