Competition Groups Rules

• ​Athletes only compete against their own competition groups.
• Per the USATF guidelines, your athlete’s age, as of December 31st of this year, determines the age group in which he/she competes: ​5-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18
• ​EXAMPLE: If your athlete is 8 years old, for the entire Striders season, but turns 9 years old on or before December 31st of this year, (say, August, 10), your athlete will compete in the 9-10 age group (no exceptions)

Event Requirements and Meet Rules

• 8-8:15 report time, meet starts at 9am with the National Anthem
• No refunds due to inclement weather; we will make every effort to complete our meets
• Athletes may compete in 4 events total, maximum of 3 running events
• Any events over the allotted 4 will be disqualified and not scored
• There are qualifying times for the 3200m and 1600m
• There are special rules for the Stars and Stripes Invitational. Click here for those rule

Order of Events

1. 3200m Run (9+)
2. 100m & 110 Hurdles (11+)
3. 50m Dash (5-6 only)
4. 100m Dash (5+)
5. 1600m Run (7+)
6. 400m Dash (7+)
7. 800m Run (7+)
8. 200m Dash (7+)

• Long Jump (5+)
• Softball Throw (5-6 only)
• Shot Put (7+)
• Discus (9+)

Field events run concurrently with Track events

Awards

• ​There will be ribbons for all places in each heat
• ​There will be medals for 1st and 2nd places OVERALL in each event, NOT PER HEAT
